Operations Manager Kevin Kresloff explains that these distributors often place the most “unattractive” produce in the backs of their buildings; “maybe a quarter of [the produce] is unusable because it looks unappealing, but most of it is salvageable and we’re the ones willing to look through it”. Hungry Harvest then packages the produce for resale to customers at a discounted price. Their staff delivers a bag of surplus produce directly to their customers’ door on Sunday mornings. The company offers a mini share, a full share, and a super share. They are also planning on introducing an organic option in the near future, which means a portion of their donations will include organic produce.
