Buy Local / Value Chain Analysis

Meeting Schedule: 7-9pm on the second Tuesday of every other month in Bethesda
Goal: To develop and sustain an economically viable local food system in Montgomery County that supports producers, distributors, retailers, and consumers of local foods.
Current project: Coordinating a year-long Eat Local Challenge, featuring four seasonal recipe challenges, in partnership with local farmers, restaurants, and markets to connect local producers with local purchasers, promote place branded marketing, and highlight the quality of county products.
Anyone is invited to join the Working Groups, which will meet more frequently and independently than the whole Food Council. Public involvement is encouraged. Please contact mocofoodcouncil@gmail.com if you or your organization/business is interested in getting involved.
